Here is a quick list of some go to measurements to help you in your next decorating/building project. Lighting over a dining table should be 60” off the floor to the bottom of the fixture. Start with 36” above the counter to the bottom of a fixture when hanging lighting over island/bar.

Chair seats should always be at 18” off the ground for optimum comfort, and typical dining tables are 30” high.

Coffee tables are traditionally 24” high, but be bold and try a taller coffee table for a fresh look.

Billiard tables should always have 5” of clearance around the table to avoid putting holes in your walls.

When you’re ready to hang art on your walls start at eye level.

Ceiling fans can be quite handsome when the blades are hung at door height.
